I’m new to blogging or journalism or whatever else you want to call it. What I wanted was a place to record my thoughts and my journey because let’s be honest, the amount of googling I did to try and find someone facing something similar led me to many dead ends. If I can help even one person in a similar situation as me then this will be worth it.
This mess all started on November 11th 2019 when I got a fever. My 4 year old had been sick so I assumed I had gotten his crud. I took a day off work, then another day, and then finally I ended up in the hospital with really high fevers. Several days of testing turned out with a diagnosis of Mono.
From that testing came a (likely) benign tumor on my Kidney and cysts throughout both of my lungs. Now I get to see lots of specialists to try to figure out what is wrong with me so we can start a treatment plan.
That’s the short story. The start of what will hopefully be an uneventful journey going forward. My hopes with this blog are twofold:
- I hope to be able to get some of my fears and anxieties out on paper (screen) to ease my own mind and process through all these thoughts and feelings that I have.
- To share all the stuff with the people who are interested in reading about it.
